Winter Camping/ Iceclimbing

The rope was set up over night, it ended up frozen into the ice. David and Matt had to solo up and chip the rope free.
David on a mixed route.
Jon had a hard time climbing with Matt's old mountaineering crampons. You can see here that the one on his right foot isn't even attached anymore.
One of numerous frosty beards. The overnight low was close to -30.

FUN IN THE SUN/SNOW

Jonathan loves going for walks now (and actually walking). He's pretty good on the snow, but the ice is still a challenge. He has no concept its slippery and heads straight for it at full speed.

Ben loves the snow. He gets totally soaked and frozen and doesn't care at all. He was loving me taking his picture too.

This was one of Ben's favourite gifts. He played with it for hours yesterday.
We waited until Christmas to build our gingerbread house, so it wouldn't be too stale to eat.

Early Christmas
Matt's sister Sarah only had yesterday off, so we had Christmas with the Jansen's early.

The boys got new housecoats from Nanna and Bubba. They looked so cute.

Jonathan got some new Dr. Seuss books from Auntie Sarah, he loves them.

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

I look forward to having these pictures out each year. Both the boys on their 1st Christmas'.
Since we were snowed in today. Ben helped me start putting out some of our decorations.
This is the snow that fell today. Yesterday it was 10 above and now we have atleast a foot of snow. It is starting to feel like Christmas finally.

Matt's 1/2 Marathon

Jon slept through all the cheering as people finished the race.
Here is Matt finishing the race. He finished in 1 hour, 36 minutes. Pretty good for his first one.
