A Rough Couple of Days

For those of you who haven't heard Matt is in the hospital. I took him to the clinic on Friday because he was having some pain and nausea. After hours of waiting they sent us home and made an appt for Sat morning at the Rockyview to have an ultrasound. (They thought he had kidney or gull stones). Well the ultrasound showed no stones so it was back to the clinic for more waiting to be reassessed. Well waiting (in a bed atleast) to see a Dr. Matt got suddenly worse, fever up to 41 C, shaking, and extreme pain. They were quick to give him some morphine and call an ambulance. The ambulance came at 5pm and took Matt back to Rockyview where we were told we were the 16th ambulance to arrive. They had the patients in the stretchers lined all down the halls. (Quite a site!!)
We were lucky? that Matt was really sick because we didn' t have to wait too long to get in. They finally decided he had ruptured his appendix and would need surgery.
At 10pm Sat night they took him in. It took 2 hours to get it out and all the toxins that it had leaked but it went well. I have never waited so long to get looked after but am thankful all is well now.
Matt has to stay in for 4-5 days but already is doing a little better. Please keep him in your prayers and I'm sure he'd welcome a visit from anyone interested.

Yeah. Apparently you get one lifetime :) return without a receipt. Kind of funny actually. I also returned one of the shelves and the brackets... totalled $75...yikes! I should pay more attention to what I'm buying.
