Winter Camping/ Iceclimbing

The rope was set up over night, it ended up frozen into the ice. David and Matt had to solo up and chip the rope free.
David on a mixed route.
Jon had a hard time climbing with Matt's old mountaineering crampons. You can see here that the one on his right foot isn't even attached anymore.
One of numerous frosty beards. The overnight low was close to -30.

True mountain men to endure the cold. :) Impressive. Those beards probably came in handy for a little extra facial warmth, even if they were frozen. Looks like its time for Jon to invest in some crampons of his own?? :) Lastly, what's a mixed route? I'm assuming it means climbing with and without the rope??
